Lente - Spring

(Scroll down for English)

- Creaine: voorjaar
- Creative Corner Challenges: words
- Fadengrafik: vrij

Gebruikte materialen:
- patroon: Karins Creations
- basiskaart met geëmboste bloemen: Kruidvat

If I look at the calender, it says that it is spring now. Only the weather seems to think something else... This spring card must bring some colour.

This is the first time I am joining the Kleurenkaartenteam (colour chain). This month's colour combination is brown and kraft, so these are the base colours for my card. The nice flower pattern is made by Karins Creations.

You can see the work of the other participants in the Kleurenkaartenteam here.

I wrote the words (happy birthday in Dutch) in italics. Because of the paper I did not write with pen and ink this time (ink would bleed on this paper), but I used a calligraphy felt-tip marker. A little bit of cheating is allowed from time to time!

With this card I enter the following challenges:
- Creaine: spring
- Creative Corner Challenges: words
- Fadengrafik: free

Materials used:
- pattern: Karins Creations
- card with embossed flowers: Kruidvat

Jongedame - Young Lady

(Scroll down for English)

Last weekend, we celebrated my niece's fourth birthday. She doesn't yet seem to worry about the fact that she's getting older: having a birthday basically means getting lots of presents. And a hand-made card of course.

For this card, I got back to my cute Els Brigé animal stamps. I had never used the seal before, so I really had to make a card with it this time! I combined it with water and sand colours.

I used my newest letters for the sentiment (which says "hip, hip hooray"). This time, I tried to write them with a coloured pencil. Just grey was just, well... too grey for this card. It wasn't easy: I couldn't sharpen the pencil as sharp as a mechanical pencil and erasing mistakes is not possible when using a coloured pencil. But still, I think the result was quite okay.

Vlinderverjaardag - Butterfly Birthday

(Scroll down for English)

Vandaag is Sarah jarig. Proficiat, Sarah!

Today is Sarah's birthday. Congratulations, Sarah! She wished to receive lots of cards, so I made one for her as well. I hope the postman already delivered it to her mailbox...

The sentiment says "hooray, it's your birthday" and this was a good occasion to practice the letters I learned last October.

With this card I also enter the March/April challenge by Anreda, themed "butterflies".

Kerstkaart april - April Christmas Card

(Scroll down for English)

- Lift Challenge: liftkaart #103
- 52 weeks to Christmas week 14

The title of my articles about my personal challenge is sounding more and more weird, I think. Personally, I do not associate April with Christmas at all... But I keep on working om my Christmas cards.

This month, I tried something new to me: lifting a card. I made several cards inspired by things I had seen on Pinterest or other websites, but I never lifted a card 'officially'. The first card is the original that has to be lifted for this month's Lift Challenge. Keeping the sketch and stamping in a shape were the most important features to be kept. The second card is my lifted Christmas card.

With this card I enter
- Lift Challenge: liftkaart #103
- 52 weeks to Christmas week 14

Initialen - Initials

(Scroll down for English)

I keep finding it difficult to make cards for men. Last year, I learned how to draw beautiful letters with which I can make initials. And those are suitable for both men and women, aren't they? Two of my cards with initials have already reached their destination. The first one was for D. who went to Ireland several times: a celtic d. The second one was for M. who used to keep birds. I found the example for the birds in my Marjolein Bastin agenda (a Dutch watercolour painter).
